Fill valves
What a toilet fill valve does, and how it differs from the flush valve.
A fill valve admits supply water into the cistern and shuts it off at a set level. It is the inlet, not the outlet. The outlet is the flush valve.
Specifications and certifications are confirmed on request.
What to look for
- The valve should stop the inlet when the float reaches the chosen line.
- A tank that never goes quiet can be a fill-valve issue, a water line set above the overflow, or a flush valve that is not sealing.
- Debris in the supply can reach the inlet after other plumbing work.
Replacement and water-level notes are on the guides page. Choosing between a side inlet and a bottom inlet is in side-entry vs bottom-entry fill valves.
